The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Hearing protection is required while working in the welding department.
The employee is required to wear safety glasses with side shields. Leather work boots/shoes, sleeves, gloves, according to the procedure or operation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach above shoulders, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; talk or hear; and use foot/feet OT operate machines.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or more up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Education and/or Experience- The individual must have a high school diploma or GED. Previous experience in material handling preferred. Knowledge of welding practices or machine shop experience helpful. Must a have a valid drivers license. Valid CDL a plus. Previous experience operating a Forklift preferred.
Language Skills- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, blue prints, welding symbols, geometric tolerancing and dimensioning. Ability to communicate with other employees to gather and share information and solve problems.
Mathematical Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and assumes responsibility for the result of the decision.
Skills/Abilities- Ability to operate various equipment including Material Handler, operate a torch/plasma cutter, assorted hand tools, impact, squares, forklift, and crane/hoist. Requires the basic knowledge of company products.

Under the supervision of the shop supervisor, a Material Handler/Driver maintains production and distribution of product by pulling material from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies. Will also stage, load and deliver finished product to customers.
